Who are we?

Hourglass’s business consists of inventing, patenting, developing, and delivering head-worn technology devices. These devices offer both hands-free operation and improved touch control & interaction. The company’s capabilities have generated interest and funding from the Department of Defense (DoD) and from commercial partners. These relationships have garnered contracts and other paid engagements to research and develop various applications of Hourglass’s broad intellectual property (IP) portfolio. The company has validated initial product concepts and has fostered key relationships with leading tech companies and DoD program offices. Hourglass’s patented and patent-pending technology offering is best described as simple, intuitive, rugged, reliable, and thereby useful compared to alternative input methods and head-worn devices. Hourglass is located at Research Park at the University of Illinois.
